We exist to communicate the truth of God’s Word; His grace, His love, His power, His intimacy with every believer.  We exist to reach out to the searching, embrace the hurting, equip the growing and enable those serving.  Our purpose is to Connect with People and Connect People with God.

Born and raised in Florida, Pastor Dave Welch, grew up in a strong Christian home.  At sixteen, he moved to Alaska where he graduated from East Anchorage High School.  He met his future wife, Kathy (Covey) shortly after arriving and they were married in July of 1971. Feeling the call to ministry, Dave and Kathy moved to Cleveland, Tennessee in 1972 where Dave attended Tomlinson College. During college both Dave and Kathy were involved in Christian service through their local church youth and music ministries.

After graduation in 1974 they returned to Anchorage, Alaska where Dave served as associate pastor for two years at the Church of God of Prophecy.  In the summer of 1977 he was appointed to pastor the church in Fairbanks. On August 17, 1977 they arrived in Fairbanks to begin their new adventure with a small home church.  Their first child, Geoff, was 18 months old and their second, Jami, was on the way. (Their children are now grown and married and they and their families reside nearby.  Dave and Kathy are proud grandparents of Andrew, Kaiden, Isabella and Madeline.)

In 2014 LifePoint transitioned to an independent fellowship where Dave and Kathy continue to serve the Fairbanks community.
